Levi's denim pants are model numbered according to shape and purpose, and the 517 introduced this time is called a bootcut, a model with a slightly wider shape toward the hem!
As the name implies, the bootscut was born as jeans to match the boots. With the silhouette spread over the hem, you can wear it to cover the tube of the boots. And one of the attractions is that this spreading shape of the knee makes your legs look longer!
Levi's 517 is the world's first bootcut model, which started in 1971 for cowboys wearing boots on a daily basis! At that time, it was called Saddleman Boots Jeans!

The second point is the stitching of the inner legs!
Although the inner tag shows the exact age, many individuals have been cut off or the notation has disappeared, but there are several other identification methods!
As you can see, jeans have single stitches and double-sided stitches, and Levi's jeans before the 80s are all single stitches!
Double stitching has been used for most jeans since the 1980s, and this alone can roughly determine the age!
The third point is the stamp on the back of the front button!
The numbers are engraved on the back of Levi's front buttons by the manufacturing factory, which started after the 50's!
In the 50s and 70s, one alphabet or one number is engraved! (16 is exception)
