Cutwork is said to have started to be made in Europe around the 13th century.
Even though there are various methods, we made a multi-cross and cushion cover with a fabric that literally creates a three-dimensional atmosphere with a pattern expression like a cut-out picture.
It seems that the number of people who can make cut work is decreasing due to the aging of craftsmen and the lack of succession.
Perhaps it will eventually become a technique that can only be seen in vintage and antique fabrics.
